Descrambler was one of the first 'scrabble solvers' on the App store when it was released in early 2010. Unfortunately, many flashy imitators have been introduced since then, and it's clear that Descrambler's weak UI is holding it back. It's still doing alright; consistently in the top 10 free word games, and plenty of positive reviews. Imagine how it'll do with your design!
We would like a total re-vamp of the UI for Descrambler. 4 tabs in total along with a new icon.
Download the app and see its current state:
The only thing you won't be able to see in the free, non-upgraded version are the word definitions.
For those that know their iOS design lingo: the tabs aren't 'navigation' based at the moment (meaning pages don't slide in from the right or left), new views just overlay to block other UI elements. We are thinking this would be a good opportunity to re-code the app to use navigation controllers, so keep that in mind for your design.
The free version is ad supported, so take note of where the ads appear as you're using the app. Leave room for banner ads in key places in your design.
Feel free to be creative... I'm sure your designs are going to be great! Realism could be good, like with 'real' looking letter tiles. Or go for something more abstract. Whatever you think would look the best!
We will require a layered .psd file for each screen/tab so that we can crop/cut out all of the design elements and include them in the app.
The screens should ideally be 640x960px (for iphone4, I can downscale for the 320x480 version myself) and the icon should be 512x512.
