We host a unique Hiring Event and Family weekend geared towards veterans and their families as they seek employment and a new place to call "home". The event is unique in the sense that we basically take care of everything for participants (limited to first 50 families): we arrange interviews, provide hotel, transportation, meals, fun excursions, etc. Their biggest contribution is their time and willingness to travel here (Hickory, NC).
As far as demographics - most of our participants are veterans based in NC (at either Camp Lejeune, Fort Bragg, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base), mostly families - we think our community tailors well to military families, 25-50 years of age, Male and Female targeted.

We have an event coming up in October (19-20) here in our community. We have been doing some ad promotion via Facebook and Instagram - we have had some minimal level of success, but I am looking for more. We struggle with trying to convey the unique qualities of the weekend: veterans, families, 1-on-1 interviews (not just a job fair), fun things, veterans resources brought to them in a picture plus only minimal text. On one end it needs to be identifiable to veterans, but not so overtly patriotic (all flags and stars) and all colors red, white and blue - or the usual picture of half soldier/half person in suit. I'd even be open to specific ads geared towards a specific base: Army (Fort Bragg), Marines (Camp Lejeune), Air Force (Seymour Johnson), Army (Fort Jackson, SC), Navy (Norfolk Naval Shipyard).
The goal is to drive traffic to our website, in which they will register for the Hiring Event and the Weekend.
