I am looking for an abstract design that is more of a "logo" or "brand" type of thing, that I can then use across all the books of the series. Think of "The Hunger Games" with the flaming arrow and the bird, or "Divergent" wit the crow (and sometimes I've also seen a sort of burning circle design). The iconography associated with the story is a lot of ancient weaponry (African)...and also the Golden Stool of the Ashanti (but in the novel it's made of stone). So if the logo/ icon could revolve around a kind of weapon, or a shadow, or a stool... that's been made into an abstract kind of icon, that would be great. This icon would then be used in varying colours and sizes across all the covers of the series. In terms of typography and background designs, I am looking for something that would suggest/ hint at "East African" or "Southern Africa" without necessarily screaming "tribal!!!"... So overall, in summary, I'm looking for something Afrocentric, or Afrofuturist...that's logo-based.
Lo que debe evitarse
Avoid stock imagery and stock photos of characters...I'm looking for something more or less abstract. I know many fantasy and sci-fi book covers go for that one central character photo that dominates the cover. But that's not what I'm going for.
