This is a book a bit separate from my company. It's a memoir about my son Michael. We are retitling and repurposing the original book. The target audience is families, particularly families who have a child with special needs.

The book was originally titled Isabel's God, but it does not get to the heart of the book. We are changing the title to read: It's Messy: Th heartbreak and joy of life with a special needs child. The book is about my son Michael who was in a wheelchair. We need a new book cover to put this on Amazon.
I want the book to have a good feel. We are trying to communicate the reality of having a child with special needs, but also the joy.
I am not looking for anything with the typical "hands in the air" feel to it. That is fairly cliche in the disability world, and it does not reflect the essence of the book because of the heartbreak component. The story ends with our son dying, so too much playfulness isn't appropriate.
I also am not looking for a face on the boy or man should a person be included in the design.
