The main idea is that a Dad will pick up the book, see the cover, be intrigued and think, "Yeah…the celebrity culture distributed by all media forms (Netflix, Facebook, smartphones, gaming, texting, etc.) is becoming the dominant influence on my kid and, as a Dad, I don’t like that and want to reclaim my influence position (and value-structure) in the lives of my own kid."
The book has sections that would be read by dads and kids together, but dads are the target market from a purchase standpoint.
I want the cover to be inclusive of all Dads and that is why the example cover is a silhouette, rather than any particular race or age. I want the cover to show the Dad ready to take on the challenge of being a relevant parent, and beating back the celebrity culture as the main influencer of his child.
