Lisa Bain became a young widow in 2016 after losing her husband to cancer. She quickly learned we live in a grief phobic society which isolates the grieving even further. The Boise based author began writing to work through the grief process. With both humor and heartbreak, she incorporates grief and bereavement issues into her poetry, short stories and novels.
Descripción del libro
The Kingdom of the Talking Trees survives on the hearts of its rulers, Queen Libby and King Dale. Each has half the other’s heart grafted to theirs, and their magical kingdom is kept safe and separate from the Normals’ realm by this bond. The Kingdom has had two rulers bearing the burden for as long as they have known. When Dale is fatally wounded, the half of his heart within Libby dies as well. In order to stay alive and keep her kingdom safe, she must do the impossible and regrow her heart. Her weakened state brings trials and danger to her Kingdom, so Queen Libby travels with her loyal knights and advisors to defend her people. But will she be able to save her kingdom and herself amidst the devastating loss of her husband?

Here are some ideas for the front cover:
was thinking something comic book/Harry Potter-ish since it's a fairy tale. I know you said you had people for this. I was envisioning Libby (with either red or blue hair) sitting on a throne in the woods, perhaps a bit unlady like in posture or dressed in her black leather jacket and jeans, glass in her hand, whiskey bottle on the floor, small black dragon on her shoulder and a wolf at her feet. The tree of life crown on her head. Maybe a ghost Dale in the background.
Queen Libby (red hair) in a forest of trees, palms outstretched, the tree of life crown floating over her hands.
An anatomic heart "wearing" the tree of life crown, floating slightly above a woman's open palm, on a white or black background.
