Douglas Kovatch works as a psychiatrist in Lakewood Ranch, FL. He's always had a great interest in writing, but Gordon's Quest is his first novel. The plotline, characters, and folklore contained within were bedtime stories honed over many decades. This book is influenced by the movies, television, and music of the 1980s.

Descripción del libro
Rugen Sloane's dreary life changed the day a weathered traveler named Gordon emerged from the wilderness and knocked on his front gate. For years the world has been plagued by roving monsters that kill anyone they catch outside the confines of their village. The fact that Gordon was able to brave the journey to Rugen's doorstep is a testament to his survival skills. It doesn't take much for Gordon to convince Rugen to join him on an adventure across the continent to stifle the growing evil, along the way meeting an array of characters eager to join the quest.

This book consists of a lengthy journey across a continent, so multiple motifs can be explored. The mountains they cross are important to the story, and I think should be featured around the title words on the cover. "Gordon" should be stacked above "Quest", and the "T" should be a longsword that stretches down the page. The top of the grip (the pommel) should be a glowing gem from which rays of light are emitting.
I was also thinking it would be cool to have a small scene stretching from the back cover to the front, so if you held it open you would see a hooded wizard blasting one of the bad guys. Both should be in hazy silhouette. The bad guy is a muscle-bound, beastly, clawed, ogre-like creature with ram horns. He doesn't use any weapons.
Another logo described in the book I'd like to see is a capital letter P that is loosely scripted to look like a three-petaled flower. That could be on the spine or back of the book. I have a lot of other imagery from the story, but I don't know how much you need to make a cool cover.
Lo que debe evitarse
I would like this to be a creative, handmade piece, not just a bunch of stock images thrown together.
