The book is a dark, noir-ish thriller following the main character's descent to rock bottom. The title is inspired by the following quote:
"It was the season of light, it was the season of darkness; it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair" (Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities)
The cover I picture has a dark nighttime background, with out-of-focus falling snow or blurred lights. However, I'm very open to artistic interpretations, as long as the grim, despairing atmosphere is honoured. I also picture the author name being in a colour not found elsewhere on the cover, possibly a dark yellow.
No landscapes, please. I'm also leaning toward no recognizable objects. I'd like the cover to create more of a feeling of something ominous, rather than paint a literal picture.
