Descripción del libro
This is the third in the Noodle Trails series, humorous travel memoirs where the author never ends up where she planned. These are the weird yet wonderful ups, downs and surprises of her year 2020. It's for everyone who loves a puzzle, and especially for those who don’t. No one’s path in life goes straight from A to B. It’s more like a bowl of noodles and may not be what you ordered: in fact, it might be better. In the Noodle Trails series, the author seldom ends up where she intended. In volume 1, a visit to Thailand became a residency in a jungle hut in an island community. In volume 2, a visit to Budapest resulted in a rediscovered family history and new cousins galore. Her next destination was to relive 20 years in London, but Brexit stopped that. Revisiting 10 years in Scotland was the next plan, but Covid stopped that. Planning became a joke. It was wiser to accept that all routes would change and continue changing. Life became a constantly mutating Rubik’s cube: improvisation and black humour blossomed. A year of journals and letters focus on highlights, puzzles, traps, escape plans, genealogy, long-lost cousins, gossip and plenty of food, all laced with the author’s trademark sense of the absurd.

Necesidades de diseño
I need help finding the best possible photograph for the front cover. I have searched a bit, and include suggestions and samples, but I hope you have access to more resources. There will be ebook and paperback versions, via KDP and CreateSpace: designers with that experience are sought. Template is provided. . We need you to be available to make adjustments, when the first proof copies get printed. This can take 2-3 printings. I will need advice me about costs of securing the rights to use a photo. I realise this is above and beyond the initial budget, and needs to be agreed separately. It needs to be a photo rather than art, to keep with the style of the series. Covers of NT1 and NT2 are attached. If you like, you can submit simplified ebook covers as a first communication, to select an image. The paperback version can follow, once an image has been selected. This is an option. More about the book: Genres: Travel, Memoir/Autobiography Sub-genres: Travel Stories, Senior Travel, Women Travelers Audience: More women than men, probably over 40-50, educated, middle class. Half USA, half UK. Style of writing The aim is to be smart, funny, also informative entertainment. There are serious themes but always with humor and a strong sense of the absurd or irony. It’s a journey through several different places - mostly Budapest and Thailand, an odd combination: oddness is part of the style too). But, we can’t have a specific location photo. It needs to feel like a symbol of travelling through life. An inner journey through confusion, in an outer journey of unpredictability. The theme is unpredictable changes, not knowing where you’re going or what’s ahead. Images can be, for example: A winding road, a long vista or a long view, wide horizon, a long journey where you cannot see the destination. A jungly path maybe, or climbing mountain? This Traveler On The Road Of Life can perhaps be a man (see NT1) Maybe it can be young or old, male or female, any colour – but A Person On Their Life Path is the feeling we want. It is not at all supposed to represent me literally, but any traveler, metaphorically. It can be more than person, on a journey. I saw many winding road photos, but it’s better with a person. Other possible images: Puzzle, riddle Maze Treasure map or map with a crazy path? Confusing map? weird maps? upside-down or distorted maps of the globe? weird or phrenology maps of the brain? Weather-vane? Radar? How else to search, or navigate? I am open to new ideas for images to represent: finding your way through confusion. A roulette wheel with many choices? A rubik cube (3x3 please not 4x4, if so) with fragmented incongruous images? COLOUR I like an autumn gold (see photo: Woman on Long Winding Road). But you can try other colors. NOTE: Please see NT1 (yellowy-orange) and NT2 (blue). NT3 needs to sit well next to them. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=noodle+trails+in+books&i=stripbooks-intl-ship&crid=3E0U4UED9GD0&sprefix=noodle+trails+in+books+%2Cstripbooks-intl-ship%2C468&ref=nb_sb_noss About golds and yellows: This author is 65 years old. So it should not be the young sunshine yellow of fresh spring daffodils, but more like golden October golden leaves in New England. AND A NOTE ON THE STYLE This is part 3 of a series. Please see attached NT1, NT2. This cover, NT3, needs to make it very clear that this is a series (with more and coming). SPINE: Between the title and the author's name, please add a tiny ornament (see NT1 & NT2, or even a bit smaller and subtler). Example is attached: a rubik-type cube, red-white-green -this is a running joke in the story. Optional but cute note: Red-white-green are the colors of the Hungarian flag, and most of this story is set there. But some of the story is in Thailand, whose flag is red-white-blue. If you want to play with that – great. For example, the nine squares of that face of the cube, might start green in one corner but mutate to blue at the opposite corner. That’d be a small but tasty joke.
Lo que debe evitarse
Please avoid orange or blue, colors of volumes 1&2. This must sit well next to them.
