Descripción del libro
Bye Baby is about an unmarried mother who is forced to give away her baby in London in the 1970's. It is told from the perspective of her son today, more than 40 years later, as he uncovers her story.
Público al que se apunta
The target audience is mothers in the UK, Ireland, Australia and the United States, aged in their 20's and 30's. The book will be particularly appealing to single mothers and women who had a strict religious upbringing but no longer identify with their faith.
While the target audience is mothers, we also want the book to appeal to fathers and other demographics. So we don't want the design to be too feminine.

Diseño de inspiración
We like the subtle use of color and the background colour.
We don't like the font, but we do like the use of color, contrasted with a simplistic background.

Necesidades de diseño
We want the title 'Bye Baby' to be in a medium-large font and have a commanding presence. Under the title should read 'Bridget Reilly's incredible true story.'
The imagery should be colorful and bright. We've had the idea of a birds eye view of a crib with colorful toys within it and the sheets pulled back. But the crib is empty, signifying the loss of a baby. Another idea is a nursery full of empty cribs. We are open to other ideas. The brief is essentially: bright and colorful, with dark undertones.
Lo que debe evitarse
Even though the target audience is women, we don't want the cover to be too feminine. Men should not be deterred from buying this book based on its appearance. While we've picked pink as a color to be used, we don't want too much pink. A small, subtle amount is just fine.
We also don't want the cover to look like it's a children's book. The story may be about a baby, but it is a very serious story that is targeted to adults.
We really like this cover. The subtle use of a color works very well, especially against the textures of the background. We also like the font. However we would prefer words to be capitalized.
This is the main logo. However, we have also provided other versions of the logo just in case it doesn't work with the color scheme.
One idea for the cover is that it features a nursery full of babies (like this pic) but one crib is empty (signifying the loss of a baby)
One idea for our cover could be a mother standing outside the window, looking in at her baby (who is alongside other babies in the nursery.) But we should not be able to see the mother's fae. She has long red curly hair.
Please include on the back cover.
