The cover is for a terrorism thriller set in Jerusalem. An innocent American tourist in the Holy Land discovers an ancient inscription hidden for a thousand years. Before she can even begin to understand what it says, terrorists want her dead and she finds herself framed for murder. With a disgraced former intelligence agent as her only ally, Siobhan McLane will have to confront her own past and discover the truth about the history of the Middle East. Survival and returning home depend on her knowledge of the past and her determination to learn the truth.
I think a female character on the front would be beneficial, but is not required. If there is a female character, it's very important to me that she not be portrayed in any kind of exploitative way that's suggestive. If you do use a female character, this is the description of the book's female lead:
Siobhan’s shoulder-length red hair emerged as a pony tail from the vent hole of an adjustable ball cap. Her white t-shirt advertised the archaeological dig program in which she participated. Her baggy tan cargo pants bulged at every pocket with flashlights, multi-tools, water bottles, and the myriad useful detritus a person might need while crawling underground in a desert country. She was in her mid-twenties — a beautiful young woman with a passion for the history of the Middle East and a frustrated desire to participate in digging it up.
I'm hoping for a cover that evokes the Middle East, religious history, and deadly danger.
Archaeology figures prominently in the story. For inspiration, consider Indiana Jones, The Da Vinci Code, etc.
The title of the book will be: The Prophet Conspiracy
