Generations of women have been passengers (or captains) on a slow-turning ship driven by evolving education and work opportunities and the associated challenges of childcare and saving. How we have or will respond can profoundly affect us decades later in our Q4 retirement years. "Q4 Woman: A Guide to Security, Purpose and Peace of Mind in the Fourth Quarter of Life" gives context to the complexity of women's financial lives. It is a compass for those on their way to Q4 and a GPS for those in or approaching retirement. Q4 Woman travels beyond the financial 'shoulds' and the question of "how much money do I need to retire?" to "how much for what?". A guided personal exploration lays a foundation for critical decisions. The results create a sense of security by giving meaning to the money we have. They give purpose to the time we have in life's final quarter and provide peace of mind knowing that our wealth of experiences, our wisdom, and our uniqueness are our true north stars.

I think a simple front cover design is best. I imagine that "Q4 Woman" is an intriguing title, though I wonder if we could 'shadow in' "Fourth Quarter" somehow to let the potential reader know what is meant; that it is not a Quianon (sp?) book for instance. The Woman part is, of course, important given the background and unique challenges for women that are identified in the book. So that should show prominently as well. I could also see a compass or other directional images watermarked on the front cover. There is a lot about finding direction in the book, and more boat, ship and car analogies than I expected would be in the content. I do like the idea of having a woman on the back or somehow on the front with photo 'phases' of her turning her head from looking over one shoulder to increasingly looking forward or over the other shoulder or forward with purpose and sense that All is Well. Maybe a strand of silver hair winding onto the front cover somehow? Perhaps the winding strand of hair makes the shape of Q4? The successive images of the woman (I am imagining from the chest up) would reflect: transitioning from younger and caught up in the business of life to older and more settled, focused and full of wisdom (this to attract the younger reader in Q2 or Q3); or going into Q4 feeling a little beaten down and unfocused - even a bit unwell - to vibrant, purposeful, and secure. I imagine this transition could be done through: changing hair color from darker to silver; black and white to color; 'blurry' to crisp; through successively focused and calm facial expression changes; some other creative approach! The idea here is to show: That this book is to awaken the financial awareness of women in earlier quarters of their lives to the impact their decisions can have on the trajectory of their future income and retirement; Express TRANSFORMATION, EMPOWERMENT and HOPE for those entering or in Q4 whose time for those decisions is mostly past and haven't saved 'enough'.
