Descripción del libro
The Valley of Kings is a wonderous place spoken of in reverent tones by children and adults alike all over the western lands, and yet, that is where Lark has finally arrived. Lark and his companions find themselves entering the Valley of Kings just in time to attend the Great Western Fair that brings together people of all races and nationalities from all around the Western Lands. Having barely survived a perilous journey just to get to this legendary place, Lark now finds himself meeting Kings the Valley was named for. Even more dauntingly, he must do so cautiously, while learning a family heritage his parents were unable to fully share with him before their untimely deaths at the hands of a group of nefarious schemers who reside amongst those kings. With his life enduring a hazardous roller coaster of emotions, Lark finds he must first master himself if he is to exhibit the character to be a man his parents would be proud of. He must also find a way to prove to the world that though he may look a youth in years, the Child of Creation is rapidly coming of age, and learn to accept that he may very well become the only force capable of uniting a council damaged by centuries of squabbles and deadly infighting. Lark works with friends both old and new to learn if he even is the person all these Kings seem to believe him to be while battling to survive the evil plans of those whose burgeoning power depends upon ensuring his untimely death…

At the same time I want something unique enough that it will only be identified with the Then Came a King series. Lark the main character, is a hunter’s son. An expert bowman even at his young age. So in book 1 I describe a scene where he is arming himself with a new bow and arrows. The arrows have black shafts with red cardinal feathers as a way for his arrows to be distinguished from those fired by every other archer of just common ability. So maybe two of those arrows, (black shaft, stone point, with bright red feathers, crossed point down, with a sword that has a cross worked into the pommel somehow overlaying the intersection, and then have a gold crown around the intersection of the arrows and sword. Tell me what you think of that as the “Then Came a King” symbol.
The cover should also incorporate a series logo. You'll see a series of covers from the King Raven Trilogy which follow the look we're hoping for.
I would like it to look and feel like a rustic medieval story
