SUMMARY: Your job is to, basically, pick a background color [probably not blue, green, or orange, as it needs to look visually distinct from the other books in the series] and a center image [probably something about clocks]. The rest of the work is basically done for you! Please use the template provided. Totally okay to use stock photos! I'll pay for it if you're picked. IMPORTANT: 1. This cover is part of a series and MUST fit the template of the other three books in the series. I have attached the PSD file for two of three three books. Please save yourself time and use it. Note the font choices, and the title layout, and the black bar at the bottom. 2. Save yourself time and just the front cover. (We can work on the back cover in the final round, or I can do this myself.) 3. It must look visually distinct from the other 3 books in the series. That means that green (Cracking the Coding Interview), orange (Cracking the PM Interview), and blue (Cracking the Tech Career) are probably bad choices. 4. I encourage you to think about imagery related to clocks, designing clocks, making clocks, clock factories, clock blueprints, drawing a clock... not sure! (See "CONTEXT" below.) This isn't strictly required -- maybe we'll be open to something else -- but we have a preference for this. 5. Book cover should be 7x10. This is the size of the Cracking the Coding Interview book (the green one). CONTEXT: This book is part of a series. The clock + blindfold for Cracking the PM Interview was picked because of a famous PM interview question "How would you design an alarm clock for the blind?" The cover image for Cracking the Coding Interview was picked based on that one -- showing the gears behind the clock (because this is for the people who MAKE the stuff, rather than the ones who design it). This next book, Cracking the PM Career, is for PMs (product managers, NOT project managers), to help them build their careers. We probably want to stick with the idea of a clock (since we used a clock + blindfold for Cracking the PM Interview), but it doesn't necessarily need to be this exact clock. Think: designing a clock, different types of clocks, stop watch, clock making, blueprints of clocks, sketches of clocks, etc. TO REPEAT: There is a template. Use it! (Sorry for the repetition, but I hate to see designers designing something totally "different", only to get eliminated because it didn't fit the series. I saw this happen a lot on the last cover).
Lo que debe evitarse
Do not use puzzle pieces, briefcases, ties, suits, desks, computers, anything "male" (suits, ties, pictures of men) or female, things that have to do with "cracking" (eggs, shattered stuff, etc)
