This book makes leadership real by helping you build and evolve your personal leadership model. While the book recommends a specific principles (the “what”) and methods (the “how”), there is a heavy emphasis on making it your own. --- The title, "Strategic Pause," is the in-the-moment method of your personal leadership model. Instead of taking the "business as usual" path, taking strategic pauses is a better way. The strategic pause, leading in the present, is only part of the book. Your personal leadership model also covers how to lead in the future, which includes building systems that deliver sustainable results. ---- The book is intended as a semi-textbook. You read a section, think about it, and internalize it into your personal leadership model. I see the reader returning to this book at various points in their career. The reader will eventually conclude that there is heavy overlap between their personal leadership model and their life philosophy. ---- Mottos: Take strategic pauses to fast-forward your leadership development.
