Manning is an independent publisher of computer books and video courses for software developers, engineers, architects, system administrators, managers and all who are professionally involved with the computer technology. Our main readers are programmers and about 80% of them are men, often young men in their thirties.
This book includes techniques and practices for a better life as a professional software developer. In it, developer and life coach John Sonmez addresses a wide range of important "soft" topics, from career and productivity to personal finance and investing, and even fitness and relationships, all from a developer-centric viewpoint.

Manning's covers often use 200-year old images of dress habits of regional life of the time. Our stylistic preferences and visual branding can be seen at https://www.manning.com/catalog (click on "toggle cover images"). We prefer subdued colors. We're looking for a cover that looks graceful, yet different from our standard covers. We want a fresh take, while at the same time acknowledging the Manning look.
Included are three figures. Figure #1 is on the first edition cover. When creating the cover for this new edition, please use one of the three figures, or a part of it, as well as the font (Bodega Sans Medium&Black) and our logo as provided. The figures don’t have to be the dominant element on the cover, but we would like it there as an indicator that this is a Manning book.
