The author's passion is to write books and tell stories that bring a smile to people's faces, a warmth to their hearts, and a restoration of faith - faith in a loving God and in the magic of laughter, the family unit, our beautiful world, and the better side of human nature.
Descripción del libro
Drawing the threads of their lives from the Middle East and South Africa back to their childhood home in Central Africa, three sisters are forced to face and deal with each other, their past and present hurts (whether real or imagined) in a quest to rediscover the golden thread of their sisterhood.
The central theme is FAMILY, specifically sisterhood (good, messy, forgiving, indifferent, etc.).
The family is of European descent (Irish and English), although most were born and grew up in Central Africa.
Público al que se apunta
People (perhaps mostly women) who are probably 30+ in age; would most likely have sisters; may be located in or have a link to or affinity with Central/Southern Africa and/or Israel; may be of Christian faith or are familiar with or come from a "traditional" Christian background. They are looking for a relaxing and uplifting read; they're interested in human drama, family relationships, and are perhaps open to improving or better understanding their relationship with their own siblings; they may be interested in reading a book set in Africa.

Necesidades de diseño
The back cover will have text. I can supply text when I decide on the back cover. Also the back cover and spine could bleed over the design from the front cover to create the feel of one continuous image on front and back - that's a possibility.
Feel free to use creativity - surprise me! You may be thinking something I'm not.
I've added some example covers at the bottom that will hopefully give an idea of the kind of imagery I'm thinking will suit my book cover.
Ideas for inclusion:
* Single track, red earth road with African "bush" (trees etc.) on either side
* Travel - airplanes, Zambia, Israel, South Africa
* Fish eagle
* Vervet monkeys
* Golden thread
* A lily-shaped diamond ring
* Spanish style farmhouse (single-story)
* Humpback bridge over a stream; "poohsticks" game played by 3 children
Lo que debe evitarse
I do not want the "acacia tree and orange sky sunset" treatment that is typical of the covers of so many fiction books set in Africa - that's a no-no.
I don't want a "dark" looking cover - it should be uplifting, not frightening
