Attention: I know I'm offering a low price and what I expect is a great cover, but this is one book out of four. Whoever wins this wins them all (assuming certain performance thresholds are met). So keep that in mind.
As for the book, let's start with the amazon landing page where you can see the current cover, blurb, and other books in the series: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072KSLF41
Integral is a near-future urban fantasy where vampires and people and magically gifted live together in a mildly dystopic world where corporations govern territories. It's dark at times, gritty, profane, and features fast-paced action scenes between bouts of intrigue and development.
Frank, a gruff, cynical and colorful vampire. Face full of stubble and with skin just dark enough and eyes natural looking enough to hide his condition.
Matthias, a less cynical, more analytical vampire. Clean shaven with hair to his shoulders and very pale.
Charles: A young officer of Chinese descent who is charged with recovering an escaped mage (magically gifted).
Sandra: Woman in her mid-twenties capable of using magic to move in supernatural ways with long hair and a thin muscular body.
The first segment of the book chronicles two cases that introduce Frank and Matthias to each other and shape their relationship as well as set the stage for the next part. They are investigators for a corporation run by other vampires in order to secure their collective interests.
In the first case, they investigate a murder thought to be perpetrated by a vampire. In the second, they investigate reports of a vampire targeting mages for turning.
In the third case, they are ordered to help track down an escaped mage named Sandra, and are joined in the effort by the Warden named Charles.
Points of interest that might be useful for a cover:
The world of Integral is dark and somewhat gritty, but not without humor. Frank and Matthias visit a nightclub. They have a shootout with bikers at an old limestone fort.
Sandra breaches the door of an old powerful vampire then fights him hand-to-hand.
The four together raid a corporation's headquarters to steal a valuable prize near the novel's climax.
Things this book draws from or is similar to:
Much of the setting and tone is similar to the tabletop game Shadowrun, without the meta-humans. It's cyberpunk with magical fantasy and vampires in the mix.
