Yeah, I don't know squat about how to make a book look appealing. I have lots of pictures I'm putting in the book, maybe some of these could be used to create an attractive cover. Some of them were found using Google image, so the fact that I have it doesn't mean it's not copyrighted. If you would like to use a stock image, let me know the cost first.
The name of the book is "Eagles of God." The authors are Dean Chlebowski and Becki McGlasson. It is about 11 members of the 101st Airborne division that fall asleep in Belgium in Dec. 1944 and wake up in July of 1209 in the south of France. These men have been placed purposely by a higher power right in the path of a Crusader army hell bent on murdering anyone they suspect of heresy including innocent men, women and children. This "Albigensian Crusade" really happened costing the lives of over 1,000,000 victims. The reasons for the war include all the mysteries swirling around the Da Vinci Code stuff, the Holy Grail stories and the incredible evil of the medieval Roman Church.
Along the way there are some pretty intense romances, lots of bloodshed and even a trio of "Foo Fighter" UFOs that seem to appear at crucial times. The main town in the book is Carcassonne, France which is a typical walled city on a hill in the 1200's.
I'll try to get some of the main pics uploaded just to give a better visual idea of what kind of stuff could be used in concocting a design.
Here is the back cover blurb:
In 1209 AD Pope Innocent III ordered an army of Crusaders to march upon the citizens of
southern France with a ruthless vengeance. An estimated one million people were
killed during the Albigensian Crusade and countless others during the
Inquisition that followed. Innocent men, women and children were tortured,
raped, mutilated and murdered during this unholy rampage. Can eleven brave men
protect the innocent citizens of the Languedoc? Can God use the good men under
Sergeant Bruce McGlasson to change history? In this fast-paced thriller eleven
men of the 101st Airborne Division and some surprising additions have
their “Rendezvous with Destiny.”
