He Heard My Voice: A Midlife Mom's Journey Through Cancer and Stress and Her Unexpected Arrival at Healing and Wholeness
Connie Rosser Riddle
Biografía del autor
Connie Rosser Riddle writes about being transported beyond breast cancer and being fired from a job through yearly solo journeys. Those pilgrimages help her draw away from the busyness of daily life to be present with God. Her writing is based on those moments of being led by the #stillsmallvoiceofGod often through the #peopleinherpath.
Descripción del libro
This is the story of my simultanous struggle with breast cancer and a toxic job that's interrupted by a serendipitous trip to Sedona, Arizona. That solo journey-turned-pilgrimage becomes a template for seven more that transport me from being bald to bold and from self-conscious to self-confident. The memoir weaves together my everyday life as a wife, mother, research nurse then school nurse with the extraordinary experiences of my journeys to create a rich tapestry.

Atributos de estilo
Necesidades de diseño
I'd like an abstracted image of Sedona/Bell Rock that's at Oak Creek. A rich blue sky in the top portion, earth-tones of rock in mid-ground, and hint of water/oak creek at base. I want a Matte finish with a very textured feel. This would get at the pivotal scene of my first journey, where I'm sitting on a rock, imagining going into the water to wash off the "mud and mire" of the "slimy pit" that was my toxic job and is based on Psalm 40: 1-2, New International Version of the Bible. Would Like title written in script--similar to Lucida Handwriting--to get at the personal conversation with God and the way I mention writing in my diary throughout the memoir. Would like spiritual, evocative, thoughtful but not stuffy/strict font. Eye-catching title and clear subtitle--even though it's long it's important to speak to who is the target audience. Would like the book to measure 5 1/2 x 8 inches.
Lo que debe evitarse
Will not accept a Stock image of rock formation from Sedona/Southwest. While I want it represented, I want a more abstract design to evoke the feel of the rock, of Sedona but not a realistic picture like a travel book.
I like the textural quality of this design
I like the evocative nature of this book--would like similar font style but more handwriting than calligraphy
Like the feel of the reds and blues--cover speaks to women
