I'm looking for a bold, eye catching cover for both a paperback and ebook format of my humorous book called "The Archibald Review."
I'm hoping for bright, solid colors (but not neon.) Think 50's and 60's, designer Saul Bass, pop art, etc. Combinations of solid colors such as red, orange, yellow, purple, turquoise, or black are good, but feel free to experiment all you want! I'm open to the use of doodles, comics, pop art, etc. I don't necessarily need an image on the cover, but if there is one, it should have an element of humor to it. The title should be very easy to read, especially when shrunk down to that teeny tiny postage stamp used on Amazon. And of course "Michelle Sandoval" should be on there somewhere, as well.
The book is a collection of humorous short stories, skits, etc., and it starts out as a spoof of a literary magazine (The Archibald Review). The first piece in the book is a letter from the "editor" explaining how, through a series of unforeseen events, every last one of the stories within this issue are by the same author. (That'd be me.) So if you choose to use imagery, something tied in with a literary theme might work well. (I'm not too keen on a person sitting at a typewriter. I've seen that one an awful lot in self-pubbed works lately.)
For the paperback's back cover, I'd like a spot for the summary, an author photo, and an author bio that I can plug in later.
