Please keep the design clean and professional. The cover should not be crowded, though elaborate designs are not necessarily bad.
FRONT COVER DESIGN
We’re rather low on ideas here. But hey, that’s what you are for!
The idea of the book is that retirement “alligators” are dangers that come out of nowhere to “eat” up your income. In order to protect yourself from these alligators, you should create a Retirement Umbrella of strategies that will protect your money no matter what happens in the future.
One idea we’ve had is to use a picture of a happy couple underneath an umbrella. Like this stock photo: http://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-be…98938.html. However, please do not actually use a stock photo. Designs are preferred, like this (http://previews.123rf.com/images/fa…ouette.jpg) or this (http://previews.123rf.com/images/al…Vector.jpg).
Feel free to use your creativity here. Or if you can convey the idea without using an umbrella image, do that instead!
At the present moment the subtitle does not reference alligators. So don’t plaster the front cover with them. However, if you can tastefully incorporate them to make people do a double-take and ask “what’s going on?”, we’ll consider your submission eagerly.
BACK COVER DESIGN
The back cover should harmonize with the front cover. Preferably, use a single dominant color for both the front and back cover. (Other complementary colors are of course okay too.)
BACK COVER CONTENT
[The first line is the headline, which should be set apart from the text. Underlining not necessary.]

The publisher logo is attached. Please place this in the bottom left-hand corner of the back cover. Also place it on the bottom of the spine. If your choice of colors for the cover requires it, you may change the logo to black-and-white.
Leave a space on the bottom right-hand corner of the back cover clear for the barcode. It is not necessary to make one yourself, as CreateSpace will automatically add it.
