I'm looking for a *minimalistic* vintage looking cover for my poetry book (measurements listed below). The book's main themes are growth, pain and battling mental health, so I want the cover to illustrate that, at least to a certain degree. My idea is listed below but if you have something you think would illustrate these themes better I'm open to seeing it!
*New idea/thought to work with*: Harpocrates, the Greek god of Silence. I attached a few photos of some symbolism and drawings of Harpocrates. I think that would be a really cool idea to work with, but still maintaining the minimalistic feel with the rest of the cover.
My original idea is to have the title be large, the rest of the text be small with the author text on the top and tagline on the bottom. The font is undecided but I want to keep it sleek and minimalistic. Then under the title a vintage drawing of a snake(s) (resembling growth/shedding of the skin). I've attached some illustrations of snakes I like! As for coloring, I would like to play around with different options- black background, white text/drawing, brown/tan background (like the vintage looking covers/drawings), or anything you think would look good!
I also like the idea of a drawn face (minimalistic drawing), or eyes or a brain. I'd really like to see different ideas!
(This book is basically the insides of my mind, like a dairy/journal, if that helps with any creative inspiration. ALSO please look at the photos I've attached of covers for inspiration, I really like how they all look somewhat minimalistic but also meaningful and vintage-like). Thank you!!
Ps! I've been searching for the perfect cover for a while so the winner will most definitely get a large tip :)
