I'll need 1 fiction book cover design, with the potential for 1 or more follow-up projects (a sequel to this book and perhaps designs for another fantasy series I'm working on). I am picky and when I find a designer I like to work with, I like to stick with them.
On the front cover, I would like the title centered and slightly towards the bottom to make room for a central, symbolic image in the center. The title is "Kingdom of the New Moon." I am thinking much like the covers for Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles Series (which I will attach for your reference). Under the title in smaller font, the author name: Aly Clark. At the top in smallish font (perhaps same size or a bit smaller as author name): Book One of The Two Kingdoms Series. Make the color of the words either white or turquoise to match the image used in the center. Please be creative with the fonts and effects used on the fonts.
For the symbolic image, perhaps a ruffled turquoise cloak on a stone floor, faded out to a watery effect on a navy or black background. Something like this, though please feel free to be creative. Or another idea: Much like the first, but instead of a cloak, a white, swirling pattern against stone, perhaps glowing, with the same dark watery background. Continue the dark, watery background onto the spine and back cover. Do keep in mind that this book is a young adult fiction novel primarily about aquatic, humanoid characters, so I want to highlight that underwater feeling. It is also a very dark story involving death and sacrifice, so keep that in mind as well when choosing fonts and colors. I don't want it to look too fairy-tale-ish.
This cover will need to come in 3 versions: softcover 9 x 6 in.(CreateSpace specifications) and softcover & hardcover case laminate 9 x 6 in.(Ingram Spark specifications). Please consult their respective websites for dimensions, bleed, etc.
