Things that I have considered:
You will get MANY POINTS for trying to incorporate some semblance of the concepts that I cover in this book in a clever way. I don't want boring and straightforward. but ideally a clever combination of content and design. See some of my cover examples for inspiration. The selling point is that it is a unique take on the genre, with a focus more on the big picture, leadership, and adding your own style than most generic-feeling bar business books. The writing style that is obscenity-heavy, casual and fun, contrasted with the ultra-detailed how-to content is what makes this book completely different from the dominant voice in the industry. I would LOVE for the cover to reflect this uniqueness in some way. So as thrilling as a martini glass with a style or filter thrown over it is, I want more depth, and something that really stands out.
-The book deals in a lot of detailed advice for how to organize your life and work with calendars, spreadsheets, to-do-lists, etc in order to have more time to maintain a more fulfilling big-picture and avoid burnout (par for the course in the bar management world) - this dichotomy could provide interest for a cover. For instance, a style with an element of pointillism/building blocks that show the tiny parts that make up a whole, the “I am” cover and the “Selfie” covers speak to this idea.
--I will have hand-drawn tables/charts and diagrams in the book to reflect my personal style. That is another layer to consider tying in. Maybe a play on maintaining your creativity or soul in the industry
-The book is definitely a “brain dump” in some ways - it shares personal stories without filter and addresses the “spinning plates” nature of the bar management industry - for this reason i resonate with the “1984” & “Double Speak” covers.

I shared all this to give you an idea of where I am coming from, but am also open to new ideas that will best get my demographic to pick up or click on this book! As I touch on above with looking for additional work for chapter headers, I will also be looking for logos, business cards and a whole lot of other products. So if we hit it off, the sky’s the limit!
