The Culture Key: Successful Investing and Entrepreneurship in Frontier and Emerging Markets
Curt G. Laird
Biografía del autor
Curt Laird has done business in over 30 countries and traveled to more than 100. He grew up in Ecuador and Indonesia and has spent the majority of his life outside his home country of the United States. Curt is one of the most experienced foreign entrepreneurs in the frontier market of Afghanistan. Over the past 14 years he has been on the founding executive team of Roshan, Afghanistan’s largest mobile phone operator, launched his own 50-employee training company, and founded the Business Innovation Hub, a business accelerator at the American University of Afghanistan. He is currently consulting for startups in Nigeria.
During his time in Afghanistan, Curt met his wife, Katrina, a British-Finn who similarly grew up between cultures. They have two children, Soraya Kaija and Josiah Jaya, both with four citizenships and the same peripatetic life their parents grew up experiencing.
Descripción del libro
The Culture Key is Curt's first book and uses stories from his time in Afghanistan to drive home the critical importance of inter-cultural intelligence for successful investing and entrepreneurship in emerging and frontier markets such as Afghanistan, Nigeria, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc. The book shares practical tools and invaluable insights for starting and growing businesses cross-culturally. This is not an academic treatise/textbook, but a practical, engaging 'manual' to doing business successfully in these environments.
Público al que se apunta
High net worth individuals or investment fund managers interested in international social or impact investing. It should also appeal to directors/managers of multi-nationals who have a business in frontier or emerging markets.

I need the subtitle more prominent. This is a book about successful investing and its cultural aspects, not just about culture.
International in flavor, not regionally or culturally specific. Fairly simple, bold and clean (not busy). A clever use of a graphic or design element. I like the orange/red/yellow palette, but don't like too much of it. I'm open to other colors, mostly primary.
Lo que debe evitarse
Avoid using a graphic/photo of a key (from the title, The Culture Key) unless it is abstract or subtle.
