Biografía del autor
Heather Drummond was born in Africa in 1976. She grew up in Zimbabwe and went to the Dominican Convent in Harare. She is a conventional Christian who has often been challenged by the fear and skepticism associated with Eastern practices such as yoga and meditation which she now enjoys and teaches. Her enthusiasm for life and spiritual enlightenment drove her to write her book ‘Dear River’ sharing her spiritual journey and how it helped her hold on to life after she sadly lost two of her closest family members. Her message of love and inter-faith harmony is spreading worldwide.
Descripción del libro
Venture into the world of eastern theology with a conventional Christian who is challenged by the fear and scepticism often associated with yoga and meditation. Share with her a deeper understanding about these practices and how they can strengthen your relationship with God. Become part of a new movement of harmony in diversity that the world so desperately needs. Most importantly, come to know yourself as Teilhard de Chardin saw us – as spiritual beings having a human experience, not human beings having a spiritual experience. Dear River is a powerful, poignant book written by a soul-searching woman as a gift to her young son. It speaks volumes on her pursuit of truth, her spiritual awakening, and brings to light new ideas on how to live life to the fullest. It is written from a very personal perspective which lends it a certain fresh resonance that is not often common in other spiritual books. It offers a new viewpoint on Christianity, Spirituality, God, and our divine purpose here on earth. The author gently pushes you to question your life and your ideals for the better, as she did along her incredible journey. If you have ever wondered about life’s bigger picture you should definitely read this book! (Tanya Hunt, Editor.) Dear River is an autobiography, written by a Zimbabwean girl who grew up in Africa. Greatly inspired by her husband Garth and the book Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch, she enrolled in a writing program called The Movement of Change, a program for amateur writers with a strong desire to share their spiritual message. This is her story… About the author ‘Dear River’ will help anyone wanting to: - live a healthier life - deal with the loss of a loved one - find more meaning in their life - learn more about yoga and meditation from a Christian point of view - free themselves from a haunting and consuming past - restore faith in love, marriage and meeting their soul mate - live without fear, worry or regret - healing a disease or situation spiritually - stop smoking or similar substance abuse - see more harmony in the world between all cultures and religions enjoy a calm state of mind and being

I self published this book 10 years ago and received many wonderful reviews from friends and family. I've now resurrected the book and feel perhaps a new look and feel will help convert sales. In our first 2 weeks of marketing this month we have had over 2,000 clicks on our advert showing my video introduction (which you can see on our website www.dearriver.org) but only 3 sales. It was priced at about $10 but we've now reduced that by 50%. Perhaps it's the look and feel of the book too that is putting people off, not sure but it's one of those books that's so juicy and captivating inside, it needs a cover to match the readers experience. I've attached the silhouette picture of River and myself used on the original cover, I've recently made my hair look longer on the front cover because it has been long for 8 years now and is more how I'm known today. I would be curious to see this same picture in some designs (with long hair as seen on latest cover) but maybe not as solid black, maybe other colours or something funky. Here are some of the reviews of what people have said; https://www.dearriver.org/reviews-critics/#reviews PLEASE NOTE WE WOULD LIKE TO PUT THE TOP 7 DESIGNS TO A VOTE ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE AND TEST THEM 1 DAY AT A TIME ON OUR ORDER PAGE TO SEE WHICH BOOK CONVERTS THE MOST SALES.. https://payhip.com/b/a7bO So the decision will ultimately be based on the cover that appeals most to our fans. The cover we choose to use on Amazon and our website will be the winner. My hope to to invite people onto a path of self discovery, of health and wellness, I want them to join my online yoga and self help courses. You will see from my YouTube page I teach yoga. I'm about to get professional videos done too. So although I don't want it to be too religious the cover should invite depth and connection to ones self and divinity and people's true purpose in this world. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr9GT0Hrk9QiMSQINJKBNmA
Lo que debe evitarse
I think perhaps the religious sentiment of the book is putting people off (the cross, aum symbol, muslim symbol etc). Most reviews and where people are touched is how I bounced back from my mothers suicide and sister dying in a car accident. Also the love story with my husband and how we live a life free of alcohol, meat, smoking etc.. quite unusual in this day. I've attached my current book cover. I want something completely different.
