I need both an eBook cover to be used on Amazon Kindle eBooks, and a print-ready cover (front, back and spine) specifically for Amazon’s KDP “printing on demand” service. Note: the print version has an oddball trim size of 7.5” x 9.25”
You should know two things up front:
1) I’m happy with certain elements of the current design. That current design must be doing something right, as the book has consistently ranked well on Amazon. And I don’t want to jeopardize that. But I believe the current design has an aura of amateurishness. So, if you can take the current design and tweak it to make it look more polished and professional, that would make it a contender.
Will attach the current design as it appears on Amazon. By the way, I’m not particularly happy that there are two different versions – eBook and paperback – that’s just the way it worked out, given the unusual dimensions of the paperback.
At the other extreme, I would also entertain a complete re-design. If you elect to go that route, extra points for a re-design that would be recognizable to existing readers (in other words, there would need to be some elements that carry over reasonably well from old to new design).
Regarding a complete re-design:
a) It should be a simple, strong, sophisticated cover that implies the idea of “investing – made easy.”
b) Any visual would need to suggest Up, Easy, or Optimism, but avoid most -- if not all -- of the standard investment and business clichés: NO big cartoon dollar signs, no piles of cash, no men in suits, no briefcases or handshakes, and VERY LIMITED use of stock charts or stock market-related graphics.
c) Finally, and most importantly, the book needs to “pop off the shelf” or stand out and catch the eye quickly, whether that’s on the Amazon platform as a small thumbnail, or in a bookstore.
2) There is a second book of mine, “Stock Market Cash Trigger,” available on Amazon. In a perfect world, I’d love to have the two books eventually share some similar design elements. Ditto for the third book, which I’m currently working on. Translation: extra points for developing a design whose elements could transition onto book #2, book #3 and so on.
Specifications for the print cover:
