Diseño de inspiración
I like that you can clearly see the title and the author and that the subtitle is a little smaller.
I love how clean this is. Just the title, a small image and the author's name. this is my favorite design that I've seen and would love it if mine could be set up similarly.
I like the metaphor of the pencil erasing the debt.
This is the cover of my first book. I didn't like the cursive print at all, but I liked how the background image faded a bit and the title was still readable and clean.

Necesidades de diseño
My brand is dating and relationship books for women, many of whom are lesbians. My look and feel is like Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City - feminine, sassy, but classy. I want the font to be clean and easy to read for a non-fiction book. The feelings I want this book to evoke are: fun, flirty, healthy, love, stable. I'd love an image that represents Getting past the baggage - maybe a suitcase or bag of some kind. The book will be 5.5 x 8.5", black and white.
Lo que debe evitarse
No cursive fonts or bright, bold, newspaper headline looking fonts, no pictures of people where you can tell the gender, many of my readers are lesbians and the book is primarily for women.
This is my logo. I like the look and feel - sassy, feminine, but clean.
This is my longer logo, just to give you a sense of my brand.
