I like that the description and author bio are justified. I like the overall layout, and the way the author section was handled.

IDEA: From the very beginning, I had the idea of the ink from a pen writing out the title name and then continuing with a line and drawing some sort of ruin. A pen is main metaphor in the book--starts in chapter one and goes through to the end...and that pen gets passed to them at the end of the book to tell their story. This cover was an idea I had when this project started...I would LOVE to see someone take the idea and run with it!
The book is narrative nonfiction. It contains many stories. It is a painful book but with much hope. There is humor and elements of whimsy. In moments, it is very heavy, but never hopeless. There is a lot of joy as well.
I'm looking for a creative cover...not literal ruins. There is a cover of a book called "Wearing God" by Lauren Winner that I really love. Finding God in the ruins (my book) was previously published and then put out of print. You can see the original book cover on Amazon or with a quick google search. I never liked the original book cover they chose. I'd like to stay away from anything like that. Mainly, I didn't like picture they used, which felt like it was for an older crowd.
Lo que debe evitarse
Not a fan of golds and browns as a dominant color.
