Book Title: Solace Island
Author: Sara Flynn
When Maggie’s fiancée and business partner of five years dumps her on the eve of their wedding, Maggie retreats to a small gulf island with her sister Eve, to lick her wounds. She has no interest in pursuing a romantic attachment with the grumpy, albeit, incredibly handsome, Luke Benson, who bakes bread and sells it at the Solace Island Saturday Market. Though sparks fly whenever he is near, she insists on maintaining as strictly friends policy.
This works until attempts on Maggie’s life throw them into much closer quarters.
Who wants Maggie dead? And how is it that a bread baker is so enormously wealthy and seems so well equipped to handle this deadly threat?
Image-wise the suspense part of the book contains: night, mist, a cave Maggie tied to stake with the tide rising, the moonlit ocean, shadow-figures of hit men, pacific northwest topography, arbutus, Douglas fir. The hero, ex Special Forces, dark hair. The heroine, slender, long wavy auburn hair.
