I want a cover and a few interior page designs for an e-book cookbook, to be published using whatever is the current Amazon self-publishing platform. I hope to work with someone who is familiar with this type of product. This first book, which is on salads, will be a prototype for what I intend to become a series, so the design needs to accommodate various topics.
All the books will be very short -- 7 to 12 recipes -- and priced accordingly.
I need 1) a cover,
2) a table of contents
3) recipe pages that would include a lead photo, recipe title, head note, ingredient list, and recipe body copy, plus some bonus "note" type things.
I believe the final files should be pdfs, but I will need a flexible template, in Word or Pages, so that I can build out the whole book and future books. Bonus points will go to the designer who has worked with KDP or whatever the current platform is. I want some guidance !
The look should be very clean and fresh, mass-market but contemporary...think J. Crew, The Kitchn.com, Madewell. But nothing uber-trendy, because I want this to be an evergreen series. Please no heraldic shield-type designs!
The cover can be all typographic or can incorporate photography. This first book has 7 nice recipe photos and I have a lot of fairly high-quality food photos, as in fresh ingredient portraits etc.
