Descripción del libro
UNBUSY is about the hard work of declaring the things that matter most to you in life and then designing the flow of your time to ensure you have the freedom to spend as much time as it takes to achieve those important things.
It leans heavily on the predictable patterns of flow systems in nature (rivers, trees, our lungs and vascular system) and how they help beauty to emerge in the face of chaos. Physics explains how these systems work and we can learn to design the flow of our own life around the same patterns so that we do the right things, at the right time, and for the right reasons.
Público al que se apunta
Really anyone who feels like they don’t have enough time and are constantly feeling busy. This is likely to be young working parents and career oriented professionals also trying to balance family relationships.

This grabs my attention. It’s a little too loud for my book, but I like that it stands out.
I am a sucker for really good but relatively clean illustration that ties in with a books title/content.
I think negative space can grab attention too. This may not be the best example but it definitely can speak to me.
I feel like this is fun and serious all at the same time. I like that.
I like the subtle visual design in the background. I especially like that it’s a tree, but could get behind a river delta as well.

I clicked on the Color generator thing and apparently this might be a color to explore (perhaps as an accent color):

Necesidades de diseño
The Title should definitely be big and readable at thumbnail size. The concepts in the book are built around the physics of flow patterns that create river systems, trees, and branching tree-like structures.
The design should be clean.
If there is a way to use these as simple (maybe abstracted) visuals without the cover seeming “busy” then I’m interested. The main metaphors in the book are about blocked up river systems (like the Colorado river and all it’s dams and diversions) and restoring the flow to flow system of our own life. I really don’t have a strong preference or idea when it comes to typography except that it needs to be on the simple and elegant side.
Lo que debe evitarse
Can’t have a busy cover for a book titled UNBUSY!
I like the color and simple playful style. But it’s not TOO cute, you know? I like the simple iconic image to draw focus and attention.
I like the feel and the abstracted natural motif
I sort of dig the colorful typography on a neutral background.
The visual communicates a lot without being overly complcated. It hints at the authors journey contained within. The typography is clean and bold which I like.
The imagery is a tad busy, but overall it still feels simple and clean. The text is clean and bold. I like the negative space. I don’t love the visuals inside the silhouette, just the overall feel.
I like the branches imagery. The typography is too rough and stubble for my book, but I do like the overall feel of the cover. I don’t like the drabness of the color though.
