Frieda Watt loves history. She spends most of her weekends dragging her kids to the museums and National Historic Sites of Canada. She also writes books. Actually, this is her first book but she has been writing since before she could spell.
In another life, she studied Fashion Arts at Seneca College which has absolutely nothing to do with the book you are holding in your hands.
When not writing or digging through history, Frieda divides her time between her husband, three daughters, two fish, one cat, and triathlons.

Descripción del libro
Marie Levesque is a young woman growing up on the shores of Ile Royale as the French Empire collapses on the battlefields. Britain and France are once again at war. The conflict has spilled over into the North America of 1744.
With the threat of war looming on the horizon, Marie struggles to find her place. As a young woman, her life is just beginning. Her friendship with Pierre promises of something more. But the British promise not only to defeat them but annihilate their very way of life.
As empires collide, Marie and Pierre are catapulted into a world they do not understand—a world of spies, treason, and revenge.
Not only must they fight to survive this war, but they must also fight to stay together despite the forces that threaten to tear them apart forever.

Necesidades de diseño
ALTHOUGH I AM ALLOWING STOCK IMAGES, THE WINNER WILL BE A UNIQUE DESIGN WHICH WILL HAVE NO STOCK IMAGES OR STOCK IMAGES WILL BE USED AS A HIGHLIGHT OR PART OF THE DESIGN, NOT THE MAIN FOCUS.
I'm looking for something simple in a solid colour with a simple design or image. The colour can have depth or texture to it. Name and title clearly displayed in a contrasting colour. I like a simple font like MOON or NEOTERIC BUT SURPRISE ME WITH YOUR CREATIVITY. I would like the words to be the main focus of the cover but I don't want them huge and taking up all the space.
I like blank space. Images or symbols representing wilderness, water or ripping apart (tears) are what I am looking for.
Lo que debe evitarse
I do not want a cover that depicts a scene, multiple people, or full cityscape. Rooftops at top and bottom are ok. I HATE the colour yellow.
