Developing, Structuring and Operating Commercial & Industrial Rooftop Solar Projects in Indonesia: A Policy and Legal Approach
Haghia Lubis and Luke J. Timmins
Biografía del autor
About Haghia Lubis Haghia Lubis obtained her law degree from Universitas Indonesia and her master of law from Harvard Law School. She worked at both corporate and litigation law firms until she founded her own law firm in 2014. After her experience in law, she decided to become part of the legislative process which forms the law in Indonesia and worked for the Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the National Intelligence of Indonesia, as well as the Coordinating Ministry of Investment and Maritime. Her introduction to the energy sector started while working on oil and gas cases, and helped her gain knowledge and shape her involvement for renewable energy and electricity. Among the strategic projects she was involved in was the Presidential target of providing 35.000 MW for Indonesia, and this experience gave her an in-depth understanding and detailed experience of how an electricity generation project should be carried out, along with the supporting legislation and financing. On the subject of renewable energy project budgeting and subsidies, her experience as special staff to the Head of Budgetary Organization in the People Representative Council placed her in the prestigious position of a lawyer that also understands how a country’s subsidy and programs are arranged. Currently, she is consulting for both public and private entities and she hopes that this book will help actors and stakeholders in the renewable energy sector in Indonesia to achieve the projects as her civic duty to the society for cheaper and accessible electricity and a better environmental impact that is sustainable. About Luke Timmins Luke Timmins is a leading expert in C&I Solar and Corporate PPAs in Asia’s emerging markets. Most recently, he served as CEO for a Vietnam based solar platform, founded by investment management firm VinaCapital. Preceding this, he was Senior Development Manager at the Infrastructure & Energy Division at the Australian investment bank, Macquarie Capital. British-born, he grew up across Bermuda, New Zealand, and Australia. Luke is a strong proponent of the notion that solar technologies have a crucial function in addressing several prevailing global challenges, beyond the obvious climate change mitigation and energy-access issues. He believes that more distributed solar infrastructure will result in the unlocking expansive opportunities across societies in areas of health, education, innovation, and economic equality. Over the past 15-years, he has dedicated his career to accelerating solar power deployment through management roles at Kyocera Solar, Hanergy Thin Film Power, and Phoenix Solar. His career commenced in China, where he was part of a PV system integrator start-up, working across different functional areas of the solar business including, sales, system design, procurement, project management, and O&M. In addition to his focus on utility-scale solar, energy storage, and microgrids, he has a penchant for rooftop solar, which he views as the most captivating growth segment; he has worked on a multitude of rooftop solar projects for MNCs such as IKEA, Bosch, and Toyota as well as for regional conglomerates across the Asia Pacific. He holds an MBA, with renewable energy concentration, from Beuth Hochschule für Technik Berlin and a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology. He is proficient in Mandarin Chinese and has been situated across the Asia Pacific for most of his career. He regards the Asia region as the solar industry’s current centre of gravity and a strategic base for future deployment of the forthcoming gigawatts globally. As a subject matter expert, his motive for writing this book was to make a further contribution towards the acceleration of solar rooftop system adoption in Indonesia and the country’s impending ascension to the largest solar energy producer in Southeast Asia.

Necesidades de diseño
The theme is solar and Indonesia. It's a dry serious book purchased by legal and business people looking for hard facts. The design has to convey trust but also not too boring so it's enticing to read; a modern feel could achieve this.
Lo que debe evitarse
Avoid cliche stock images of solar panels on a roof. Solar panels are ok but more abstract than a literal image.
