I would like to have a book cover design.
Book Title: "Stripped Down Project Management"
Subtitle: "Theory, Practice, and Tools for Successful Project Managers"
The cover should contain some element(s) which can be used serialisation.
These elements should be based on a play on the words "Stripped Down". Examples would be: a piece of wood being stripped down, a naked person, ???
Project management is about managing and motivating people. Ideally, it would be clear from the cover that the focus is on people.
The book will be published both in print form (over a print on demand platform such as CreateSpace) and as an eBook. Amazon is expected to be the main distribution platform, so the book title should be readable on the thumbnail images which Amazon uses to list books.
My initial idea was to have a naked man/woman holding a large sign which had the book title on it. The space below would be filled with an image of people working in a meeting room. This idea sprang from a friend's comment "Put a naked woman on the cover and sell a million copies."
However I have some concerns that this would falsely represent the book and possibly reduce sales rather than increase them. So whilst that is a design idea that I would be interested to see, I am actively looking for alternative ideas.
I have created a Pintrest board with some images of book covers and project management tools to provide some examples of my thoughts on various project management books that I have seen.
The Pintrest boad is available here:
