Book Cover Abstract:
For more than a decade the author has drawn upon his unique sense of humor and expertise as a career internal auditor to bring to light the humorous side of the profession. His articles and blog are a regular feature within Internal Auditor magazine and receive rave reviews from fans, readers, and supporters. And now those articles are being compiled into a new book: Auditing Humor and Other Oxymorons.
This project is for the cover design for the book and will be awarded to the designer who can best capture the essence of Mike’s writings.
The winner of this project may be selected for additional illustrations as part of the interior works.
Stylization/Characteristics of the winning design will include:
Humorous: the cover should reflect the unique humor and style of the articles (see samples).
Clever: Each of the articles leverages common references and popular culture and looks at them through the filter of internal audit.
Professional: While each article is humorous and points to the lighter side of each topic, the article are respectful of the profession and the dedication of the men and women who support their organizations through the discipline of internal audit.
Whimsical: Each article balance respect for the profession with the ability to poke fun at some of its idiosyncrasies.
Double Entendre: Using the power of words, the articles often perform verbal gymnastics providing hidden humor.
