The design should comply with the Amazon eBook cover specifications.
I have included the Preface for the book (see the file attachment) so you can get a sense of what the book is all about. I’ve also included the table of contents and a few chapters so you can see what the style is like.
This is a non-fiction business book. The target audience is Product Managers in technology companies. The tone of the cover design should match that. Also, the tone should be “modern” or “contemporary” and have a “younger” feeling to it.
I am totally open to your ideas for the cover design. However, I wanted to offer some thoughts that might be useful in thinking about the cover graphic/design:
• The “step by step” part of the title is intended to connote that the book is a practical guide. The essence of the book is to provide the reader (Product Managers) with the practical steps they need to take when working on defining, developing, launching, marketing, and finally retiring a product so maybe there’s a graphic that can communicate that practical, step-by-step approach to doing things?
• Related, the book draws heavily on the concept of the “product life cycle.” Basically, each product follows a lifecycle where it goes from an idea, to being planned, developed, tested, launched, marketed and, finally, retired and replaced with a next generation. So, maybe the life cycle could be leveraged for the design?
