This book endeavors to provide biblical answers to the many questions and doubts concerning the existence of the Evil One. The main concern and focus of the author is the destructive influence that the devil may exert upon the lives of people.

COVER IDEAS: a. I was thinking of: i. the colors in "The Scream Painting" [by Munch] defined as how we see our own age - wracked with anxiety and uncertainty (and) Displaying the human condition. ii. some covers of Christian fiction - of the books like that of Frank Peretti; 1. "This Present Darkness", "The Oath", "Piercing the Darkness" & "Prophet" a. The title of the book, "KNOW YOUR ENEMY - SPIRITUAL WARFARE AND DELIVERANCE" b. The title insinuates "PAIN" and "A SOLUTION" 1. "THE PAIN" is basically a spiritual battle against: a. Satan and his demons: Satan, the father of liars employs the wile of deception (John 8:44), b. Satan, the god of this age/world has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Cor 4:4) "This world" in this context means unsaved people that breathe the spirit of the antichrist (cf. 1 John 4:4-6) c. and the title of the book insinuates that the enemy seeks the readers' demise. The apostle Peter says that the enemy is like a roaring lion: "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). d. The entire world [not physical world, but the unsaved] harbors hatred toward those who follow Christ Jesus. (cf. John 15:18) e. This battle is also against the innate depravity of man's nature, i.e. the sinful nature. f. "the pain" also includes the struggle to repent and to deny yourself and to take up your cross! AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF A FAILED BATTLE a. The chapters of the book shed more light on "the pain" and "the solution" b. The "pain" can ALSO be described in terms of ... c. ignorance in terms of: i. the extent of the man's innate sinful nature ii. of the full salvation that is present in Christ. d. drug addiction e. demonic oppression and possession f. deception presented by cults and false religions o The "SOLUTION" can ALSO be described in terms of ... a. knowledge about the methods of the enemy and how to counteract his shrewd and deceptive ways to hurt you and your family and friends. b. knowledge about God supremacy in power and wisdom c. knowledge about God's Kingdom as the indestructible and matchless and eternal Kingdom - God being the eternal King of kings d. knowledge about the my vulnerability as a frail human being, but how could I know myself and how could I resist temptation once I know that I am a child of God, e. knowledge about Christian communities (churches) that can serve as a support group helping you and your loved ones f. knowledge about support group(s) and family/friends" Apart from the book as a source of knowledge, the book also suggests that help is to be found in the believer's community. - THE local church family - there are Pastors and their spiritual workers to teach you how to do spiritual warfare. g. knowledge about the identity and actions of the enemy h. knowledge as to how to steer away from drugs and to guide your loved ones to do the same i. knowledge about ways to employ wisdom, power from Christian teachers and counselors who love the LORD in order to overcome the wiles of the evil one and his demons/ cohorts j. knowledge about the absolute defeat the enemy [Satan en his cohorts/ demons] suffered when Jesus rose from the dead! k. knowledge about the power of God to deliver/ set people free "THE SOLUTION" is ALSO that we need to claim a war already won.  JESUS CHRIST WHO LOVES PEOPLE AND DIE FOR THEM SO THAT "THE PAIN" CAN BE TAKEN AWAY.  JESUS CHRIST WHO CONQUERED DEATH FOR ALL 1 Cor 15:  JESUS CHRIST WHO DESTROYED HIM, THAT IS THE DEVIL WHO HAD THE POWER OF DEATH: Heb 2:14 THE SOLUTION continues 3/-  JESUS CHRIST WHO DELIVERED HIS OWN FROM THE FEAR OF DEATH: Heb 2:15  JESUS CHRIST WHO BECAME LIKE US - LIKE THE NATURE OF A HUMAN BEING WITHOUT SIN - HE BECAME FULLY HUMAN: Heb 2:16-17JESUS CHRIST WHO IS GOD, THE ALMIGHTY (Isaiah 9:6, Philippians 2:6)  JESUS CHRIST WHO CAME TO EMPOWER HIS DISCIPLES - Ats 1:18 "And you will receive power ..."  JESUS CHRIST WHO CAME TO LIVE IN THE BELIEVER "1 John 4:4 "... greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world."  JESUS CHRST WHO MADE US MORE THAN CONQUERORS DESPITE ADVERSE CIRCUMSTANCES! (Romans 8:37 ff.)
