“The Amazing Tale of the Magic Glasses” (Middle Grade, ages 7-9, 6,500 words; first book in a series)
A young boy lost in Wonderland stumbles upon an “Optimist Shop” where an Old Woman (who might be a witch) sells magic glasses that she promises will show him the way home. But he has to pay for these magic glasses with LoveSpells. Every time someone declares something they love they’re making a LoveSpell.
At first he tries magic glasses that cost only 10 LoveSpells. One pair makes everything look like candy, another makes everything look funny and a third pair makes the world look crazy. Finally, he wants to try the magic glasses that will show him the way home. They’re the most expensive and cost 100 LoveSpells! At first, it seems impossible. When he eventually pays for them, the Old Woman turns into a beautiful creature, the Butterfly Queen. His 100 LoveSpells have lifted her curse. As a reward, she shows him the way home and gives him a gift—the secret to making magic glasses. When the boy grows up, he opens his own Optimist Shop to “Help Children See the Magic in Life.”

What if you could wear a pair of magic glasses that made everything look like candy?
or look funny and make you laugh? or see crazy, fantastic realms/worlds? Fantastical...though there are fairies, also elves so includes boys. Main character is a boy.
The design emphasis should be on "magic glasses" in the most intriguing, fantastic way. Someone seeing the image/cover should want to know what "magic" can be seen through them. I'm open to abstraction if it's striking. Also think of it as a movie poster.
I'm enclosing some book covers that might inspire some ideas.
Lo que debe evitarse
Keep it "adventure" so it's for boys & girls... Not overly feminine, girlish.
An Optimist Shop approach...
Not fantastic enough....
something about "circle of vision"....
Soemthing about the difference between "reality" and "magic" vision
