¿Qué te inspira y qué diseño imaginas para tu empresa?
A front and back cover for a paperback book, roughly 6 inches x 9 inches ratio. The front cover design needs to accommodate the title (‘Mostly Bulldust’) towards the top, and a short description (‘Tales of the Outback’) and the author name (‘Frank Jordan’) towards the bottom. The back cover needs to accommodate a blurb titled ‘About the book’ and containing the following words ‘. . . the mother of all crocodiles, leopards on the loose, the legendary Borroloola Orchid, a weather whisperer, a femme fatale at the side of the road, a husband who fakes his disappearance, humungously expensive red claw, a roadhouse that makes you stop, redneck comeuppance . . . just 9 of the 17 tales penned by the author on a grey nomad trip in the outback’. It also needs to accommodate a section titled ‘About the author’ containing the following words: ‘Frank Jordan has lived in Oatley in southern Sydney for the past 32 years, is retired and has travelled in the outback.’ And a photo of the author.
‘Mainly Bulldust’ is a collection of short stories about the Australian outback. Its readership is likely to be grey nomads. For the front cover I think I would prefer sketch over photographic reality. I would like to see something iconically ‘outback’ on it, eg: red dust; blue sky; spinifex; 4WD; windmill and water tank, red kangaroo(s); and/or ghost gum. The simple mock-up of the front cover I cobbled together (see below) works, but I’m sure better designs are out there. The mock-up of the back cover doesn’t work all that well, but at least shows what needs to be there.
