I want people to feel that this book will help them feel supported, positive, and in control, so that they don't need to feel stressed by having to organise a conference or meeting.
Words I associate with my book: Supported, positive, in control, calm, serene.
Images I associate with those words (but please don't be influenced by these ideas, because I am not attached to them and I am not a designer!) - Cappuccino/coffee, coffee cup and saucer, blue sky, hand-in-hand, calm water, map, white yacht on blue sea.
Vague ideas of colour palettes (again I'm not attached to these, so please be creative): Maybe blues for calmness, but if we go with the coffee image, then beiges as long as it stands out.
Things I like: the simple shapes and colours of Matisse's cut-outs https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=m…oAgw&dpr=1. Particularly The Snail: http://images.tate.org.uk/sites/def…k=BUDt5wmp. So I particularly like this book cover http://www.amazon.com/Thinking-Fast…55X8OA/ref. It has clean lines, is unfussy, with a simple striking image, a capitalised font, and includes bright colour.
At the other end of the scale, I also like the calmer colours and clean lines of http://www.colourlovers.com/pattern…Fried_Fish and I also like the colour scheme of this book cover http://bookcoverarchive.com/book/to…f_the_land
I was also vaguely thinking of the title being in capitals?
However, these are just my very, very vague ideas - they are in no way to be taken as something that must be included in the design.
Things I don't like: Italics, clutter, fussiness.
Things I really hate: business style graphics such as arrows, charts, etc
Absolute must-haves: What I am looking for a design that must be clean, clear, and not fussy, that somehow conveys calmness and support, but which must also stand out ("pop") when viewed as a thumbnail on the Kindle store.
Please feel free to be creative. You will have far more ideas than I do and I can't wait to see what you come up with! Thank you :-)
