Ms. Vanderhorst has an MBA from Wharton Business School. After a career in strategy consulting, she now works as a very successful self-taught option trader. She wrote Money Matters as a way to help the many friends and family members who have sought her advice on managing money and investing in general. It dramatizes the consequences of financial literacy shortfalls and gently introduces readers to the necessary basics of personal finance.
Descripción del libro
Maggie Mueller, an upper middle class woman, is living a comfortable, unexamined life in the Boston suburbs. Without warning, she finds herself completely cut off financially when her husband inexplicably disappears. Initially she is stunned, but when she learns her home is about to be foreclosed and the FBI is looming, she rallies quickly and begins a crash course in financial literacy. She must literally learn on the run what she needs to know about money and how to manage it.
Eventually Maggie learns that money does matter, but perhaps not in quite the same way as she previously thought.
