Necesidades de diseño
For this contest you can either (1) finish the partially completed design provided (see attached images), or (2) submit a new design expressing the same concept but in your own style. Requirements: I want a book cover design with the following elements in it: (1) An enlightened (self-actualizing) man hatching out of the back of a miserable man, and (2) a picture of the psychologist Abraham Maslow (who came up with this concept of self-actualization) incorporated into it--since the book is partially a biography of him. 1. > If you're going to finish the design already provided: A.) Work off of the PSD files provided below. B.) Primarily, what this design needs is a new (better) picture of Abraham Maslow incorporated into the image, and matching the style of the other parts of the image (it doesn't have to be overlapping exactly like it is in the example images). I'm thinking Maslow should look serious (rather than laughing or goofy) in the image (see last iteration with the dark background for an example of the kind of look I'm leaning towards). C.) I think the crouching (miserable) and emerging (enlightened) man in the last iteration (with the dark background) are as good as they can possibly get, so preferably work from that version and just add a matching Maslow picture to it--unless you have an idea you think might wow me, then go ahead and change them as you please. D.) For the title and subtitle font and style, as well as the background color and texture, feel free to change them as you see fit to make it look good. Get as creative with it as you think is necessary. The last iteration (with the dark background) I think has the top (emerging) man and bottom (crouching) man more or less perfected. Everything else could use improvement (title and subtitle, background, and the Maslow picture). Primarily, I want a new (better) picture of Abraham Maslow incorporated into the image, and matching the style of the other parts of the image (it doesn't have to be overlapping exactly like it is in the example images). Also the font and style of the title, subtitle, and author's name (as well as the background) needs to be fixed to actually look good. Feel free to get as creative with those parts of it as you want, and to play around with the colors too if you think that would improve the image. I'm thinking Maslow should look serious (rather than laughing or goofy) in the image (see last iteration with the dark background for an example of the kind of look I'm leaning towards). Here are the full PSD files of the below pictures: Original: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18iCcL55wI9ftuBSF7yXWP5qE39MX7rmu/view?usp=sharing Latest Iteration: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SbnyKoc42V2ZXcXPGG4avGDbCaC0Pl9N/view?usp=sharing New Red Maslow Image: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1y4yw-ybT7HdanjrbnQIgMuRsQtyXuxqR/view?usp=sharing Fourth Iteration (as seen in fourth example image): https://drive.google.com/file/d/11Ixr5iSshgQTlFW9aGozmCVyj1QtXgSI/view?usp=sharing And here are a bunch of pictures of Maslow I collected from all over the place that you can use: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B9WQlt1iPPQdbTBpS3M4dmliQUk?usp=sharing 2.> If you're going to submit your own design with the asked for elements: a.) Here is a Pinterest board I made for the kind of posture/look of the crouching and hatching man I'd like to see: https://www.pinterest.com/rgelperin/self-actualization-hatching-imagery/ b.) And here (just for additional inspiration) is another version of the requested image another designer made, which I liked (because it captured what I wanted to convey really well), but ultimately I thought the cartoon style was too playful for this very serious book: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cOngt-PUxaDrFm3bREX6pISWiVkg8Kgk/view?usp=sharing c.) So that's another requirement, it has to look serious and sophisticated PS. If you're feeling especially creative and/or have some other radical ideas for this design I might like, do submit them. I may purchase several designs if they have what I'm looking for.
