Joven adulto, Ficción
Descripción del libro
I swear that I filled this out earlier.
This is a young adult paranormal novel with a hint of romance. The main character is a 17-year-old Latina girl who wears a lavender head scarf (not around her shoulders) to cover her head, which is still bald from brain surgery.
It is warm throughout
Lucy's mom and dad are killed in a car accident she caused. She ends up in a small forest town she eventually discovers to be Purgatory... everyone else there is dead and forced to relive their deaths every evening. Lucy finds out she can help them resolve their unfinished business because she is still alive. She falls in love with one of the young men there, a dark-haired man named Oliver who rides around town on his paint horse, and together they make a plan to help release as many people as possible.
There is a bit of a psychological (is she alive or isn't she?) element and a twist at the end where the reader learns that this isn't the first time she's met Oliver.

My story is about Lucy, a Latina girl who loses her family in a car accident. Note: she is bald because she had brain surgery. She moves to a creepy new town. Townspeople start disappearing and they blame her. She finds out that she is basically stuck in Purgatory, and she is still alive. She helps a bunch of the townspeople cross over to Heaven and falls in love with one of them, a dark-haired boy named Oliver. Just as they are being dragged away to Hell for violating the rules of Purgatory, she wakes up from the coma she has been in.... she moves to a new town to live with her cousin, where she meets Oliver, the boy she had fallen in love with in Purgatory. The twist is that they are basically following each other through time and space. It is a dark but humorous story. Oliver rides a paint horse and Lucy wears a lavender head scarf to hide her scars. She often finds a rose boom in a bowl next to her bed. There are a lot of trees: pine trees and an apple orchard. I was hoping for a creepy vibe but warm with just a hint of romance. I like distressed fonts, but I am open to suggestions. I've attached the cover I had wanted to use (it has been used so many times by others, I just can't!), but I am open to exploring other options.
Lo que debe evitarse
Stock images! I had to ditch my last cover concept because it had been used hundreds of times. I would like to avoid colors that might deter the average male from picking up the book (pinks, an abundance of purple other than her head scarf).
