Descripción del libro
This is a fiction novel in the genre of mystery/suspense. A series of odd murders of mobsters leads people to think something bigger is going on inside the organization. One ex-mobster joins forces with his federal agent ex-wife to figure out what's going on and they end up uncovering a much larger problem. A century-old, once-thought-defunct Russian terrorist group is re-emerging with global aspirations.
Público al que se apunta
The target audience is adults. However, I steer clear of the typical "adult" content, with the exception of some violence, so it's relatively clean. I also weave some light religious (Christian) themes and symbols in my writing, though it isn't overtly religious in any real sense.

Necesidades de diseño
I'm very open to other ideas based on the book's description (you're the experts on design, not me!), but here's roughly what I'm thinking:
1. It takes place in Washington DC, with one of the major scenes at the Lincoln Memorial. I'd like something that pays homage to that...possibly a faded Lincoln Memorial in the background? Or something else DC-related that suggests that location? Washington Monument, etc.?
2. One key piece of the plot is the existence of a gold coin, similar to a military challenge coin, with a wolverine on it (the animal, not the X-man). In my head, I guess I see this coin being the central piece of the design. Either a single coin by itself, or a stack of coins with one positioned where you can see the design. I've included two possible images I found online for how the wolverine could look, one whole body and one directly face-on. I'm not sure which will look better, or if something else is best, so use your judgement.
3. I'm not quite sure how to describe this, but no matter what the rest of the cover looks like, I think I'd like the entire cover to appear like it's "splintering" or "fractured" or "cracked" somehow, to reflect the book title. Like a single big crack running down the middle? Or several smaller splinters?
The book will be 5.5"x8.5" paperback.
Lo que debe evitarse
Nothing in particular to avoid, so be creative!
