Basically the plot is about a new member of staff who has joined the railway and discovers he has superpowers. He at first tries to profit from this fact unsucessfully, before conducting an investigation to find his missing friend and uncovers a plot by aliens to transport the human race to Mars using a phone app.
Enemies Walking Wardens, robot parking attendents, who look like Post Boxes except gold or grey, with arms and legs. They have eyes above the slot and the lot is a mouth with teeth and there is a panel on the front which conceals a laser.
Ticketman is a superhero. He flies with a placard behind him for advertising like the planes. At first he doesn't want to become a hero but gets dragged on the picketline and gets into a fight with police and turns into multiple copies of himself blockading the station. The media snap him and call him Picketman and he gets dragged into being the hero of the workers. This develops as he searches for his friend Igwe.
The Network. It has ten stations. On two lines. Square line from top left to top right and down. Great Bear, Cook Street, Emperors Annoyed, Armoury, Power Hill (Bottom right), Yes Minister, London Road (Bottom left) and Carnival Street.
The second line links London Road and Emporers annoyed via great Park stn. The is a fast link London road to city airport in southwest of city.
I would suggest that the back cover is basic even just a colour to match the front (at most a network map) and the front cover shows something that fits into the above somewhere.
Artists are free to use imagination. The mailbox description is as versatile as pepper pots statement for daleks. Ticketman is about twenties I picture due to his powers emerging but I am flexible with garments as can just edit a few words to fit an eye catching cover.
Remember that a book is only as good as its cover so please just do your artwork as you picture it. Thanks to everyone entering sorry I got a finite budget and can select only one winner.
If anyone is stuck for ideas
scenarios that could work are walking wardens, ticketman flying past with a banner, or the picket line scene. There is also a scene with a flying train firing rockets in the ticket hall at the wardens.
