This is for my beginner drum kit teaching book. It will be book 1 in a series of 2 and possibly 3. So in terms of colour scheme, I would like this to be fairly limited so that future books in the series can repeat the design in different colours. ie blues/purples for this book, reds/oranges for a future book, etc. So, mostly black and white but with some flashes of colour as appropriate. I would like the colours to be fairly simple/normal, ie, no neon colours, pastels, etc.
The book size is A4.
I am already selling the book on line. The current cover is some terrible thing which I threw together in Microsoft word. It is horrible. However, I will include the image because it contains all the wording I want. A space will need to be added where I can insert a barcode once I have one.
The title of the book is in a font called Reprise Stamp. This will need to stay the same as it is repeated in the text of the book, for the name of the book and titles. Other text (ie blurb) is in Candara.
I had a logo designed which should be fairly prominent on the front cover.
I am looking for something clean and neat. Although most of my students are children, I do not want the cover to be aimed at them solely because I also have lots of adult students and I do not wish to patronise them! A bit of Rock/Pop/Punk aesthetic is good - this tends to include jagged edges, rips etc. Have a look at the rockschool (rsl) books and trinity rock and pop for an idea of what this looks like.
