Descripción del libro
Jean Gibson has always been inspired by the stories of great women in the past who have overcome enormous obstacles, proving God in unusual circumstances and thereby growing stronger and more dynamic in their faith. Seasons of Womanhood is a contemporary collection of inspiring stories of women who have faced the realities of life and proved the sufficiency of God's grace in many different situations. The stories cover various stages of a woman's life, from early days through the final years. "There are no celebrities in this book; no guaranteed happy endings, comfortable career choices or stories of starstruck success. Instead, there are real lives of real faith in a real God who shows up in the toughest of circumstances for the most ordinary of women."
Joyful in Hope tells the stories of eight inspirational women who have faced the harsh reality of life and proved the sufficiency of God's power in many different situations.
- A young mother proves what can be done when she determines to help her autistic son achieve his full potential.
- A mother works through the meaning of 'unconditional love' when she learns of her son's homosexuality.
- A wife finds the best ways to help her husband as his brilliant mind begins to give way to dementia
These, and the others in the book, are women who are facing life with courage and faith, sometimes doubting but desperately holding on to God and trusting even when they do not understand what is happening. These women reassure us that we are not alone in our situation - that God reaches out to us in our struggles and that he can bring us through.

If possible I would like to keep the artwork from joyful in hope as one idea - but it might be worth having a few options to look at. I think we need to go with the theme though of a woman in a landscape. The idea of the book is a collections of stories of women who have come through tough times and found faith in God. I want a clean and contemporary design whatever we go for please!
I want to keep the artwork of Jean at the bottom with the swirl banner idea to keep some consistency from the old to the new
It needs to be clear that it is an omnibus edition – so we need the two classics bit to stand out – either as a banner across the top or as a circle flash somewhere – if do as circle may need to change to 2 BOOKS IN 1 to fit
Ideally would like to keep same font as titles on originals if possible to keep some continuity ( doesn’t have to be same colours) but if there is a better design that looks fresher altogether then we can look at that
