My name is Louis Lamoureux. The title of the book is SYNTHETIC SALVATION.
The main character (Joshua - black male approximately 18 years old) was a super villain and helped start an alien war, a war that wreaked havoc on Earth (Sea levels rose 7 - 10 feet, it's been raining since the war, cities like San Diego, NYC, and Miami are partially under water, lots of landslides, crop failures).
Joshua has since been surgically rehabilitated and released into the care of a female FBI agent (Iris - Black female mid-twenties) and given a boring desk job. He's still super (better, faster, stronger). He was genetically modified (DNA) to be super strong and he has tiny robots inside him to augment his powers. He can't take the monotony, buys a bike, and rides across the US.
Meanwhile, a terrorist (white female 16 years old - also with the same superpowers) blows up bridges across the Mississippi around St. Louis. Joshua vows to rebuild the bridges and stop the terrorist before she destroys any more vital bridges and dams (and killing innocent people).
Later in the book, Joshua takes over an abandoned McDonalds restaurant (old school McDonalds - brown roof, white ribs think 1970s) and turns it into a community center/McChurch. The concept of "McChurch" comes up at the end of the book. There is no religious affiliation, do not use traditional religious symbols (crosses, stars, etc). People come to the McDonalds for help, and Sunday meals.
There is a subplot that takes place with different characters in space.
The book is currently available on Amazon, but it isn't selling and I blame the cover. I'm looking for a cover that screams "This is science fiction!", that the main character has superpowers. You don't have to include everything I've described here. Use as much or as little as you like.
